Are you stuck in your comfort zone, or are you willing to move toward where God is calling you? 🔹 Two Storms, Two Responses: * Matthew 8: Jesus speaks to the storm to stop it. 🌊 * Matthew 14: Jesus speaks through the storm, calling Peter to walk on water. 🚶🏾‍♂️ 🔹 What are you tuning your ear to? * The voice of Jesus? 🙏🏾 * The storm? 🌪️ * Your own doubts? 🤯 * The comfort of the boat? 🚣🏾‍♂️ 🔹 Obedience as a gateway to greater faith. What if your trouble is actually the key to your next level? What if your faith must grow before your breakthrough comes? 🔹 God is calling us to movement.Just as Peter walked on water, God is inviting us into the impossible—but we must step out. Will you answer the call? 🤔 Reflection Questions 💭 Where is our demonstration of miracles, signs, and wonders? 💭 Is fear or faith guiding my decisions? 💭 Am I being pushed prematurely into something before God’s timing? 💭 Who/what is influencing me the most? 🔥 SEEKING GOD, SERVING MAN🔥 Pastor Davis Kunihira | 02.02.25
Welcome to another powerful Sunday at ARC Sydenham! Whether you’re joining us in person, online, or catching up later, we’re so glad to have you here. 📖 Theme: Discipleship 🎤 Sermon Title: Seeking God, Serving Man 🗣️ Speaker: Pastor Davis ⏰ Service Timestamps: Pre-Service Prayer: 00:00 Service Starts (Praise & Worship): 6:34 Announcements: 1:00:00 Welcome: 1:26:39 Sermon Starts: 1:25:00 🔑 Sermon Summary: Seeking God, Serving Man We are not after people—we are after God’s heart. True discipleship is about seeking God intimately, and from that place, serving those around us. You cannot claim to love God without loving the people He has placed in your life. 📖 Key Scriptures:     •    John 15:11-13 – Love for God is demonstrated through love for others.     •    Colossians 3:1-2, 17 – Set your mind on things above; whatever you do, do it unto the Lord.     •    Genesis 4:3-7 – The story of Cain and Abel highlights the heart behind giving. 🚧 Hindrances to Serving with a Pure Heart: 1️⃣ Pride – Can you put your pride to death so you can walk in the fullness of God’s call? 2️⃣ Jealousy – Stems from truth. People become jealous when they see something in you that they don’t have access to. 3️⃣ Unforgiveness – Holding onto past hurts will hinder your spiritual growth. 💡 Reflection Questions: 🔹 Who has your attention? 🔹 Where is your focus—on man’s approval or God’s heart? 🔹 What is your assignment in this season? 🔹 Who are you laying your life down for, just as Christ did for us? 🔹 When did you last use your gifts to bless God’s people? 🙏 Challenge for the Week: Examine your heart—are you seeking God first or approval from people? Shift your focus back to serving out of love, not for recognition. ✨ Let’s Build Together! We are excited about the Sole 4 Souls initiative, raising funds for our new church home. Are You a Hypocrite? | John Oloyede | 26.01.25
🌟 Welcome to Sunday Service! We’re so glad to have you join us for today’s service, whether in person, online, or catching up later in the week. This week, Brother John Oluwatosin Oloyede delivers a powerful teaching on the importance of discipleship and living a life of love without hypocrisy. ⏰ Service Timestamps: Pre-Service Prayer: 00:00 Praise & Worship: 10:00 Welcome, Announcements, and Testimonies: 01:03:52 Sermon Starts: 1:39:32 📖 Key Scriptures: Romans 12:9-13 Romans 5:8 John 13:35 Sermon Highlights 🔹 Love Without Hypocrisy The Greek word for hypocrisy means "to act" or "play a role." Paul’s command to “let love be without hypocrisy” challenges us to allow love to flow freely, without being a performance. Love must be a choice, rooted in sincerity, not an act to gain approval or favor. 🔹 Conditional Love Is Dangerous Hypocritical or conditional love undermines relationships and discipleship. Paul reminds us that God’s love is unconditional—if it weren’t, none of us could meet His standard. Real love is sacrificial and mirrors God’s heart. 🔹 Reflections on Love and Discipleship How does the world recognize us as Christ’s disciples? By the genuine love we show one another (John 13:35). Who is your neighbour? Love is practical and relational. Real love requires rejecting evil and embracing righteousness. 🔹 Key Challenge Examine your love this week. Is it sincere, or does it come with conditions? Reflect on how you can mirror God’s unconditional love in your relationships. 🎥 Exciting Updates We’re thrilled to share the launch of the Sole 4 Souls Initiative! Will You Stay? │ Elder Akin Thomas │ 19.01.25
🌟 Welcome to Sunday Service at ARC Sydenham! 🌟 Hello and welcome! Whether you’re joining us in person, online, or catching up during the week, we’re thrilled to have you here. Today, we continue our series for this season with a powerful teaching on discipleship, led by Elder Akin ⏰ Service Timestamps: • Pre-Service Prayer: 00:00 • Service Starts (Praise & Worship): 18:00 • Welcome, Announcements and Testimonies: 56:03 • Sermon Starts: 1:37:00 Service Theme: Discipleship is at the heart of the body of Christ. From the word “disciple,” comes “discipline.” Discipline is not natural—it is learned. This learning requires submission and a humble yielding to the will of God. 📖 Key Scriptures: • John 6:53-58 • Matthew 17:14-17 • Luke 19:13 • John 14:12 • Acts 8:14-20 • Matthew 26:20-21 • Acts 22:3 Key Points from Today’s Sermon 🔹 You Were Chosen Jesus handpicked His disciples. Some followed out of a desire to be close to Him. Will you answer His call? 🔹 Proximity Matters Are you willing to press closer to Jesus, like the woman with the issue of blood, who reached out in faith for her healing? 🔹 Taught by Jesus Discipleship involves deep learning. Jesus’ disciples asked questions, sought understanding, and received profound teachings (e.g., fasting and prayer as deeper spiritual disciplines). What’s your motivation—ambition or purpose? 🔹 Work With Him Discipleship requires action. Jesus gave His disciples skills and responsibilities (Luke 19:13, John 14:12). How are you adding value to the Kingdom? 🔹 Relationship, Not Transaction Jesus shared meals with His disciples (Matthew 26:20-21). Discipleship is relational—it is about sitting at the feet of the Master to grow in connection and understanding. Reflections • What Made People Walk Away? Jesus’ teachings challenged comfort zones. What triggers might cause you to step away from your faith journey? • What Makes People Stay? Commitment, humility, and proximity to Jesus strengthen the bond of discipleship. The Discipline of Discipleship There are two types of discipline: 1. The pain of discipline, which requires effort but is manageable. 2. The weight of pain, which is far heavier and longer lasting. Which will you choose? Challenge for the Week: Examine your discipleship journey. Are you learning, working, and growing with Christ, or are you walking away when it gets hard? 🙏 Connect With Us: Like, comment, and share this message with someone in need of encouragement. 🎥 Exciting Updates!
